If you had to take a look at the Denver Nuggets roster and choose two players to build a team around, chances are you would pick Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, and for good reason.

Jokic, who placed third in Rookie of the Year voting last season, is looking fantastic in his unfortunately limited minutes as as sophomore player. He most recently put up a killer stat line against the Dallas Mavericks, dropping 27 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out four assists.

Murray, the Nuggets’ seventh pick in this year’s draft, is having an outstanding rookie season of his own. He’s averaging 9.8 points per game and has already scored more than 20 points four times this year. And he was recently awarded the Western Conference Rookie of the Month for his impressive performances in November.

Individually these guys are highly skilled players who bring a lot to the table. But when they play together, they take it to a whole new level with their crafty passing, excellent pick and roll action, and hot shooting. Without a doubt these two represent the future of Denver Nuggets basketball.
