Thursday night started off pretty good for Nikola Jokic and it might have ended even better. Just three hours prior to the Nuggets tipping off against the Jazz, Jokic was named to his second consecutive All-Star team as a reserve.

Jokic followed that announcement with a dominating performance against another player who was also named to the All-Star team, Rudy Gobert. It was a battle between Jokic and Gobert all night, but the Nuggets big man got the last laugh as Denver picked up a 106-100 victory.

When you look at the box score, Jokic dominated the game in every facet as he finished with 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field. Jokic recorded yet another double-double thanks to his 10 assists and oh yeah, he also hauled in four rebounds and forced three steals on the defensive end of the floor.

Quite possibly the most impressive stat from Jokic’s night was what he did when the game mattered most. While Jordan Clarkson was going off for Utah — 37 points — Jokic was making clutch shot after clutch shot as he scored 11 straight points in the last five minutes of the game.

Jokic is becoming one of the most clutch players in the NBA and Thursday’s performance was another notch in that belt. To watch all the highlights from Jokic’s big game, click the link below!
