Paul Millsap and Gary Harris both missed the Nuggets game against Sacramento due to injuries, which paved the way for Michael Porter Jr. to get his first career NBA start. Porter made the most of it as he scored 19 points on a near perfect 8-of-10 shooting from the field.

That was Porter’s first three of the night as he scored in all kinds of ways against the Kings. Porter’s full repertoire was on display as he was making everything from step-back jumpers to put-back dunks. Not only was Porter dunking on everyone in sight, but he also hauled in six rebounds and dished out one assist.

Porter played a career-high 26 minutes as it was just the second time this season he has played over 20 minutes. Not only was Porter a force on the offensive end of the floor, but he made his presence felt on the glass. Three of Porter’s six rebounds came on the offensive end of the floor and helped create a number of second chance point opportunities.

In the win, Porter was a +5 in the +/- department, which is phenomenal for his first game in the starting lineup. If Porter can find a way to build on his big performance, it is only going to give him more chances going forward, which is an extremely positive development for the Nuggets.
