Gary Harris returned to the starting lineup on Friday night after missing two straight starts with left ankle soreness. Left ankle soreness is vague, and doesn’t seem to tell the whole story as we’ve watched Harris grab at his hand, elbow, and shoulder over the last few weeks. But whatever may have been bothering him, he looked fresh in the 113-112 victory over Portland.

Harris shot just 9-21 from the field, though that included a 4-10 performance from deep, one that Nuggets fans were relieved to see. He’s struggled with his three point shot for much of the season, but he looked back in rhythm after catching some much needed rest. Gary finished the game with 27 points, the last three coming on a 24-footer to put Denver up with 16.5 seconds remaining. It would prove to be the go-ahead basket in the thrilling victory.
