Denver Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. sat down with the Players Tribune to explain from his side exactly what happened during his time at the University of Missouri. Through the six and a half minute video Porter Jr explains the reasoning for de-committing to Washington in order to attend Mizzou. The heartbreaking nature and timing of his back injury, he’s decision to go pro after his freshman year and how a little girl changed his perspective on life and helped prepare him for the future. Say what you want about MPJ (and a lot of people have said a lot) but in my admittedly limited experience with him all I can say is I see an articulate, thoughtful, reflective and well mannered young man who just wants to get back to doing what his loves. This video just makes me root for him that much harder.
