The Denver Nuggets went a different approach with their starting lineup on Friday night slotting in Will Barton III for Michael Porter Jr.. It was the first time this preseason that Porter did not draw the start, but he certainly made the most of his minutes off the bench.

Not only did Porter have some impressive plays defensively, but his offense was on full display as he poured in 20 points during his 22 minutes of action. Porter shot an efficient 6-12 from the field, 4-9 from beyond the arc to go along with nine rebounds and three assists.

It’s still a mystery whether or not Porter will start the season in the Nuggets starting lineup or become one of the first players off the bench. No matter which option Nuggets head coach Michael Malone decides, Porter looks primed and ready for the season to begin.
