The Denver Nuggets are hosting a 3-on-3 tournament on Saturday, September 7th, and the Stiffs have assembled a team to take on all challengers! Do you have what it takes to beat Team Stiffs?
This is the Nuggets’ inaugural 3-on-3 tournament and I hope it will become an annual tradition. Maybe even a running competition where Stiffs readers can apply to challenge Denver’s favorite Nuggets bloggers.
There are 33 divisions, one for every age group and caliber of player so if you have kids, this is a great way to get them out at Pepsi Center for a fun event. Each registered team will receive a reversible jersey and a ticket to a Nuggets game this upcoming season. There will also be prizes for the winner of each division. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of games, three pool play games with a single-elimination tournament to follow.

The tournament will also be great as a spectator event. There will be food trucks set up on site, Super Mascot Rocky will be walking around, and the Denver Nuggets dancers will be there to cheer on the teams!
Team Stiffs will compete in the 19-30 men’s recreational division and will include members of the Denver Nuggets media, including head coach, Ryan Blackburn. Feel free to trash talk the team as much as possible.

The Stiffs will also be giving one lucky team free entry into the tournament as “Stiffs Team 2.” To qualify, all you have to do is retweet this tweet to share this story on Twitter. Every person who retweets the story before Friday, August 30st at 11:59 PM will be eligible to win. The winner will be announced on Twitter, contacted directly the following morning at 9:00am and given 8 hours to respond before another winner is selected in their place.
This will be a really fun day of hoops and I hope it becomes an annual tradition. 3-on-3 tournaments were some of my favorite basketball memories from my early youth and the first weekend in September is a great time to be outdoors in Colorado.
