ESPN’s Chris Haynes is reporting that the Suns and the Nuggets are discussing a trade that involves sending Emmanuel Mudiay and the Nuggets’ 13th pick to the Suns in exchange for Eric Bledsoe. That would be a huge point guard upgrade since after getting off to a decent start in his rookie season, Mudiay did not make progress in his second season resulting in many DNP-CDs.

However, sources are still describing the dialogue as “fluid”.

Sacramento, Minnesota and Detroit have also expressed interest in Bledsoe who averaged 21 points and 4.8 rebounds last season. Phoenix would get the Nuggets’ 13th pick while keeping their 4th and likely target Kentucky’s De’Aaron Fox with their first pick.

Bledsoe is smaller than Mudiay at 6’1”, but offers more scoring ability and several more years’ worth of experience. The Nuggets could use a little more experience in the backcourt if they plan to allow Jameer Nelson to move on. Jamal Murray will need a few more years of development and Nelson is not who the Nuggets need as they look to make a defensive push next season so Bledsoe could be just what the doctor ordered.
