Damn it’s been cold in Minnesota this winter Stat Nuggets played slightly better against the Blazers.

Nuggets return home to face a Minnesota Timberwolves team that is fighting to get into the playoffs. The T-Wolves stand 5 games back with only a month of basketball remaining in the regular season. They must go on a massive winning streak to secure a position in the playoffs over the upstart Phoenix Suns and the Memphis Grizzlies.

We know the T-Wolves very well at this point. Kevin Love has been a beast in both points and rebounds. Ricky Rubio struggles to shoot but can play defense and dish out the assists. The recently returned from injury Kevin Martin is a deadly shooter who flops too much. Nikola Pekovic clearly suffers from gigantism but is a presence in the middle with his cave man glower.

Outside of that, not much new you need to know about Minnesota.

Nuggets of Wisdom

Nuggets managed to put forth a much better effort against the Portland Trail Blazers in Portland. It remains to be seen if this is a good sign, or a fact that Denver just plays well against Portland. Not sure which at this point. It was good to see emphasis on defense and the continued development of Evan Fournier is a positive on this season.

Additionally having Wilson Chandler and Darrell Arthur back seemed to stabilize things just a bit. Hopefully the Nuggets can take that positive development and translate that in to more positive performances for the rest of the season.

Here's your Nuggets of Wisdom music for the game (some coarse language in the song below)

Update:

Looks like Ty Lawson is going to give it a go tonight.

1. Hope he looks out for his health down the stretch in a lost season. Protect your health first and foremost. If he is ready to go then he should be out there

2. How does this affect the pursuit for a high draft pick? If the Nuggets suddenly start winning because Ty is back does this affect how you view the season? I think this can only be a good thing, tanking be damned. Need some positive vibes this season.
