The Denver Nuggets surprised everyone this morning after they signed former Philadelphia 76ers swingmand/power forward Jakarr Sampson to a two year deal. Sampson was cut by the 76ers a couple days ago, ostensibly to make room for Joel Anthony in the now-voided Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets trade for Donatas Motiejunas … the spill-off of which was Anthony.

How Sampson fits into the Nuggets plan will be interesting to find out.

Also head coach Michael Malone spoke about the Nuggets disheartening lopsided loss at home to the Boston Celtics. Was evident that Malone was still feeling a bit upset about the way things happened in that Celtics game. It certainly was a very poor performance by a Nuggets team that was riding high coming into the All Star break. The difference in approach by the team has been disappointing with two straight losses to the Sacramento Kings and the Celtics. Where the leaves the Nuggets will be interesting to watch.
