The Nuggets finally got some good news today as Monte Morris will return for Denver’s game against the Charlotte Hornets tonight. After missing the Nuggets past 12 games due to a right hamstring strain, Morris should finally make his return to the court, whether that is off the bench or with the starting lineup remains to be seen.

It’s likely Morris will be on a tight minutes restriction and it’s something Michael Malone alluded to pregame as Morris has played in just eight of the Nuggets past 31 games because of injury. When he’s been on the floor this season, Morris has been one of the Nuggets most productive players averaging 10.3 points and 3.2 assists per game.

Morris is also shooting just under 40 percent from three (37.7) and would provide the Nuggets an added boost to close the regular season strong. Denver has just four games remaining in the regular season before the playoffs begin next weekend, so it will be important for Morris to stay healthy going into the postseason.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the Nuggets as Will Barton III (right hamstring strain) and PJ Dozier (right adductor strain) still remain out. If the Nuggets can get both of them back along with Morris come playoff time it’s only going to help Denver’s chances of making a deep playoff run.
