Juancho three? Gotcho three. Perhaps the only person happier than Juancho Hernangomez after his game high 19 points against the Lakers was Chris Marlowe—who might just get to dust off his many gems on the call pertaining to the young spaniard this season.
Hernangomez fell out of Denver’s rotation last year, but he was called upon early and often by head coach Michael Malone in the preseason opener. Juancho lined up alongside Mason Plumlee and Trey Lyles to round out Denver’s front court in the second unit. It was an intriguing lineup which yielded positive results as he impacted the game with his confident shooting and ability to space the floor.
After the game, Juancho spoke with the media about how good it felt to get back on the court and help his teammates. It’s been a long time since the media lined up to grab a quote from him, but he was the story on Sunday night.
