In the final game of an eight game home stand, the Denver Nuggets have a chance to make it a very solid one. Despite failing to meet their own goal of a 6-2 record over the eight games, a win against the Atlanta Hawks, giving them a 5-3 record, would be a big step for this team moving forward. A victory over the defending champion Warriors already put a positive feel on these games, not to mention the competitive spirit that the team has shown in all the games, win or lose.

Atlanta presents a different challenge than most of the teams Denver has faced on this home stand. They have some of the similar ball movement tendencies of the Warriors, but they do it with a couple of mobile big men in Paul Millsap and Al Horford. In addition to those two, they get very solid point guard play from Jeff Teague and sweet shooting from Kyle Korver. Denver needs to avoid having “one of those quarters” if they hope to pull out a victory.
