Jamal Murray is having a career year this season, averaging 21.3 points a game on 48% shooting from the field. Not only that, but the Denver Nuggets are on an absolute tear right now, as they have won 17 of the last 20 games. Despite this success, it seems as though Murray received a bit of criticism during their game against the Orlando Magic this past Sunday. Murray went scoreless in the first quarter of the game, and only had four points at halftime. That must have been the motivation behind some criticism that Murray picked up on, as he tweeted the below message following the game.

As we all know by now, Murray getting off to a slow start in games is absolutely no indication of what kind of game he will have by the final buzzer. It seems that some of his most memorable games came in which he started off quiet before unleashing for crazy numbers. The game against the Magic was a good example of this. In the third quarter, Murray scored the first five points for the Nuggets and eventually, the team was able to erase an 18-point deficit to win the game, 119-109. Murray finished with 22 points and his offense was a huge reason why the Nuggets were able to achieve the incredible comeback.

While I’m sure it can be frustrating for Murray to constantly hear criticism about his performances, especially when he is having a career year in almost every facet, it’s nice to know that he seems to take it all in stride. If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that Murray will continue being one of the most explosive players in the league, capable of leading his team to a comeback win at any given time. Hopefully once he returns from injury, we will see even more of those types of performances.
