It’s late July and we’re in the dog days of summer now. Despite this, there is still plenty of basketball to be had thanks to the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Team USA has started playing exhibition matches, and while no Nuggets are on the squad one certainly can’t complain about having more basketball to watch.

Nikola Jokic and Joffrey Lauvergne will represent Serbia and France respectively in a few weeks while Jusuf Nurkic is suiting up for Bosnia in the Eurobasket qualifiers. For the rest of the Nuggets, summer is full swing and frankly news is a bit slower, but here are a few interesting items from around the web in the meantime:

In case you missed it, assistant coach Micah Nori appeared on Altitude Sports Radio last Monday. Nori, of course, coached the Nuggets at Summer League and went on the air to discuss the Nuggets’ performance in Las Vegas:

Emmanuel Mudiay and Gary Harris remained in Las Vegas for a bit to participate on the Team USA Men’s Select team. Nuggets.com caught up with the duo in an interview and were able to get some great quotes, particularly about being coached by Gregg Popovich:

"The week with Team USA was great," Mudiay told Nuggets.com. "Learning from Coach Pop and being a part of his culture and Team USA culture [has been the highlight]. I am learning how to be a professional and a leader every day."

Seeing Mudiay and Harris participate on the Select Team is great, especially as they will be the leaders of a very young and inexperienced team next year. Highlights from practice and a scrimmage on July 19 can be seen below. There's some good clips of both Mudiay and Harris from the scrimmage, which begins at 12:57 in the video.

Elsewhere, Will Barton appeared at the Drew League and showed everyone why he was a contestant in the dunk contest this year:

Reddit's r/nba is in the middle of roasting every NBA team and this week took some shots at the Nuggets:

You can read the entire roast here but be aware that in typical internet fashion, there are quite a few insensitive comments about other issues.
Finally, if you haven’t noticed, one of the newest features on the Denver Stiffs homepage is a section called Golden Nuggets. Golden Nuggets is designed to feature shorter posts based on fun Nuggets stuff found on social media. For example, some recent posts on Golden Nuggets include some photos from Emmanuel Mudiay at the Select Team practices, a snippet of an interview where Mudiay talks about his “rivalry” with D’Angelo Russell, and an interview with coach Steve Hess.
Be sure to check out the content on Golden Nuggets if you haven’t already, and be on the lookout for more content daily!
