It’s nice to see Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari, who has a lot on his plate right now as he prepares for ACL surgery and a long rehabilitation, speak up for his general manager. This Tweet from Davide Chinellato, a sports reporter for the Italian La Gazzetta:

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-partner=”tweetdeck”><p><a href=”;src=hash”>#Nuggets</a> Danilo Gallinari to <a href=”;src=hash”>#gazzetta</a>: &quot;Our team needs Masai Ujiri. I hope he&#39;s going nowhere. I met him when I was 15&quot; <a href=”;src=hash”>#NBA</a></p>&mdash; Davide Chinellato (@dchinellato) <a href=”″>May 29, 2013</a></blockquote>

Gallo also tol the Gazzetta, on May 17th, that he would be undergoing his ACL surgery in about three weeks – that'd put the date around May 31st. We'll keep you updated on that as well.

An interesting tidbit from the Tweet is how Gallo met Ujiri when he was 15 years-old – well before Gallo was a Denver Nuggets player. Yes, Masai was an international scout around that time and that type of scouting history is part of what Ujiri a successful GM now. He has learned what he likes in players and what what he looks for. Hopefully he’ll be back with the Nuggets soon …
