In every other game it seems like the Denver Nuggets suffer another injury. First it was Jamal Murray then it became Monte Morris, Will Barton III then PJ Dozier became the Nuggets most recent guard to go down. That has opened the door for Austin Rivers and he has 100 percent taken advantage of that opportunity.

Wednesday night against the Knicks was no different as Rivers got some revenge against his former team that he spent time with earlier this season. You could tell this game meant more to Rivers than most as he came out of the gates on fire from three-point range. Rivers finished the night with 25 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, 6-of-9 from beyond the arc.

Rivers made the most of his 28 minutes off the bench and played with confidence all game long. Since joining the Nuggets just a few weeks ago, Rivers has been a solid addition to a Denver team that is desperately in need of contributions from the guard position. With how many players are out due to injury, having a veteran presence that’s as solid as Rivers has been a breath of fresh air.
