The NBA announced on Tuesday that Nikola Jokic has been named Western Conference Player of the Month for his play throughout the months of December and January along with Joel Embiid of the Eastern Conference.

Jokic averaged 27.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game in January and led the Nuggets to a 11-5 record. His best performance may have come Sunday afternoon when Jokic tied his career-high with 47 points to lead Denver to an 11-point victory over the Utah Jazz.

As for his stats all together, Jokic is currently averaging 26.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game. Not to mention that Jokic is also sixth in the league in steals per game at 1.8, which is a career-high.

Through 20 games, Jokic has recorded a double-double in every single game and is second all-time for double-doubles to start a season with 20.

This is the first time in Jokic’s career that he’s been named player of the month and he’s the first Nugget to win the award since Carmelo Anthony did so in 2009.

Jokic is truly off to a remarkable start to the season and if he keeps this up there will be plenty more honors coming his way.
