Houston is starting to receive permission to interview assistants for vacant head coaching job, including Denver’s Wes Unseld Jr., and Dallas’ Stephen Silas, sources tell ESPN.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) September 30, 2020
Unseld has been the “defensive coordinator “ during his time with the Nuggets and has done a phenomenal job revamping Denver’s defense. It would be tough to lose Unseld, but he’s certainly earned this opportunity and Michael Malone has been advocating how ready Unseld is to be a head coach for quite some time.
Michael Malone, on @AltitudeSR: "I hope I don't have the same staff next year. Wes Unseld Jr. should be a head coach."— Mike Singer (@msinger) September 30, 2020
"He shouldn't be back. He's more than ready to be a head coach."
Also cites David Adelman and Jordi Fernandez as future head coaches on his staff.
Malone feels Unseld is “more than ready” to be a head coach and I guess the Rockets agree. We will continue to monitor the Nuggets coaching situation here at Denver Stiffs and keep you updated once more information becomes available.
