Paul Millsap struggled to make an impact on the offensive end the first game back after the All-Star break against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. The Nuggets lost that one by double digits. Millsap told Denver media on Sunday night that he had spent the previous two days watching “a lot of film” to try and figure some things out.

If his performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves is any indication, he figured some things out.

Millsap scored 25 points against Juancho Hernangomez, Malik Beasley, and the rest of the T’Wolves roster on Sunday, needing just 11 field goal attempts to reach that mark. Millsap made 9-of-11 from the field and 4-of-6 from behind the three-point line. He chipped in 7 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2 blocks to fill up the stat sheet, but the real marvel was the shooting efficiency. The veteran power forward has found his shooting stroke this season, hitting 45.1% of his threes and 85% of his free throws, both marks unquestionably career highs. His shooting elevates the Nuggets to new heights, and whether he’s out there with the starting unit or leading a bench unit in the playoffs, Millsap’s shot will be key.
