Hughes also mentioned how Wizards general manger — Tommy Shepard — indicated Washington plans to re-sign Bertans this summer, but that has not stopped teams — like the Nuggets — from reaching out.
After spending his first three seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, Bertans is enjoying a breakout season in Washington. Bertans is averaging career-highs in points (15.4), rebounds (4.9), and assists (1.7) per game. Not only has Bertans entire game grown during his time with the Wizards, but his three-point shooting has gotten even better.

Bertans is shooting a career-high 43 percent from beyond the arc, while attempting just under nine threes a game. The Nuggets would certainly benefit from Bertans services as Denver is 21st in the NBA with a three-point percentage of 34.9 on the season.
The Nuggets are averaging just 10.4 threes per game, which is 25th in the NBA. If the Nuggets acquired Bertans, he would most likely be a rental as he will become a free-agent at the end of the season.
