Nikola Jokic saved the day for the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night against the Dallas Mavericks. Down one after a ferocious and-one slam by Luka Doncic that allowed the Mavericks to take the lead with less than 5 seconds left, the Pepsi Center crowd knew they were in desperate need of a savior. Jokic, who had a quiet night (only scoring 11 points in total), took it amongst himself to hit the game-winning shot as time expired.

The game-winner came in the form of a typical Jokic shot, an off balance floater. Jokic’s teammates swarmed the first-time all-star after the shot, and the celebration didn’t end there. A few of the Nuggets took to Twitter to make sure they praised the Joker on social media after the buzzer beater.
Great team win!!!! On 2 the next 1! Oh yeah Joker is that duddddeeeeeee

One of the best things about witnessing a thrilling sports moment like this is not just the fact that your team comes away with the victor, but also the reaction of the players and fans. The Nuggets have proved themselves to be a team that supports one another, no matter what. This moment was a great example of that.
