According to Jeff Sherman, the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook Manager, the line for Denver Nuggets season wins has been set at 47.5, up four from the 43.5 Denver was listed at last season and a two win improvement over where the Nuggets finished last season (if they hit the over).

Last season marked the first time where taking the over was a bit of a gamble on the Nuggets. The previous two years had been easy money on the over but public betting opinion appears to have caught up with the Nuggets. If everything fell the way the opening lines have come out, the Nuggets would end up in the playoffs with a sixth seed which seems like a fairly accurate prediction and would be in line with Denver’s development curve thus far.
Vegas also expects the Nuggets to once again have to battle for playoff position both within the conference and their own division. All five northwest division teams have season win lines that if they come true will mean a winning record. Also, the wins separating the fourth seeded Utah Jazz and the ninth seeded San Antonio Spurs is just five so Vegas once again expects the competition for a majority of the Western Conference playoffs to be tight. Hopefully the Nuggets can continue their trend of beating their Vegas line for win totals. If they can, then there’s a good chance they’ll complete a 50 win season as well as be right in the thick of the playoffs.
