In a shocking turn of events at the NBA Draft Lottery, the Denver Nuggets will select 14th in the 2018 draft.

With just a 1.8 percent chance of moving into the top 3 picks and a 0.5 percent chance at selecting first overall, it was a foregone conclusion that the Nuggets wouldn’t be moving up. As it turns out, that assumption was correct. Denver will own the 14th pick in the draft this year, just outside the top prospects and the playoff picture.

Now that the Nuggets organization is certain where the pick will fall, it’s time to turn to the mock drafts, big boards, and the evaluation of talent juxtaposed with where that talent will be available. Here at Denver Stiffs, Daniel Lewis and I have you covered. With draft profiles, mock drafts, and other forms of analysis, Dan and I love to invest time in this portion of the offseason.

Here’s a list of articles released on Denver Stiffs covering the 2018 draft:

The best “Moneyball” Wing in the draft

Mock Draft 1.1

Big Board 2.0

Prospect Watch: Melvin Frazier

Prospect Watch: Miles Bridges

Prospect Watch: Shake Milton

The first round prospects I would tell readers to begin familiarizing themselves with:

  • Michigan State forward Miles Bridges
  • Kentucky guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
  • Kentucky forward Kevin Knox
  • Cincinnati wing Jacob Evans
  • Ohio State forward Keita Bates-Diop
  • Texas Tech wing Zhaire Smith

More draft content will follow. I have a “Scouting vs Analytics in the NBA Draft” article in the works, and the Stiffs all love to talk NBA Draft. So, keep checking up on that content, and if there’s anything you, the readers and commenters, want to see, please let me know in the comments or on Twitter: @NBABlackburn.

Either way, now that we know where the Nuggets’ draft pick will fall this year, the conversation can progress beyond the unknown.

I’m just sorry they will be selecting 14th.
