Malik Beasley was a Memphis Grizzlies fan on Wednesday night, as I’m sure many Denver Nuggets fans were. Since the Nuggets are a part of one of the most intriguing and thrilling playoff races in a long time, it comes with the territory of being a fan of the team that you will inevitably have to root for a bad team to somehow win a game against a much better team to help your team in the standings…you get it, right?

That was the case on Wednesday night, as the Grizzlies faced the New Orleans Pelicans. Normally, that would be seen as an automatic win for the Pelicans, but considering that the Grizzlies have won against teams such as the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves and, of course, the Nuggets, it wasn’t too out of the question to imagine they could pull off a game against the Pelicans.

Alas, the Grizzlies have seemed to revert back to their old ways and the result was a 123-95 score. The game prompted this tweet from Beasley:

While it would have helped the Nuggets tremendously for the Pelicans to somehow lose that game, Beasley can sleep easy knowing that as long as the Nuggets take care of their business, the Nuggets don’t have to rely on another team to get them into the playoffs. Still, the last two games for the Grizzlies are against the Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder. So, Beasley is probably going to find himself rooting for the Grizzlies at least one more time this season. Let’s go Grizz!
