This past week was bitter sweet for Denver Nuggets fans. We got to see our team get off to a great start, going 4-1 in their first five games and even getting a win against the defending champion Golden State Warriors. Couldn’t have asked for better, right?

Well, as it’s becoming more and more clear, this #NuggLife thing is for real. In the second game of the season against the Phoenix Suns, Will Barton went down with a hip injury that ultimately required surgery and will force him to be out at least six weeks. Not the worst thing that could have happened – especially considering the injury looked like it could be season-ending at the time, but still a heartbreaker nonetheless.

There’s no doubt, however, that Barton has all of the resources and commitment necessary to get back on the court as soon as possible. One reason why? Isaiah Thomas can help him through the recovery process, as Hall-of-Famer and former Nugget Alex English pointed out on Twitter.

Thomas is no stranger to the rehabbing process, as he’s been dealing with his own hip injury since March of 2017. I’m sure he can attest to the fact that the battle to recovery is just as much mental as it is physical.

And in case this Tweet of the Week doesn’t provide enough 80’s Nuggets nostalgia for you, Lafayette Lever wanted to throw out his two cents on Thrill as well.

Pretty cool that the Nuggets community, made up of both current and former players, is so connected. With the support of Nuggets legends and Thomas by his side, Barton should heal in no time.
