Trey Lyles has career night in revenge game against Utah

Lyles erupted off the bench for 26 points against his former team

It’s always a good night when the Denver Nuggets beat the Utah Jazz. It’s even better when they do it behind a monster night from Trey Lyles. The former Jazzman erupted off the bench last night, scoring a career-high 26 points in a huge win over Denver’s rocky mountain rivals.

Lyles made four threes, grabbed seven rebounds and had an assist and two steals on the night. He made some impressive plays all around, including a monster dunk over Rodney Hood in the second quarter.

For all the talk about Donovan Mitchell out there, Lyles has been a godsend for the Nuggets in the absence of Paul Millsap. He’s having a career year in scoring (10.2 ppg) and shooting (52.1% FG) and is a sizzling 46.1 percent from three on the year. To say Lyles has been making the most of the opportunity would be an understatement. He’s played his way into the rotation and will certainly be a key bench player as the Nuggets roll towards the playoffs.
