Stiffs’ own Adam Mares was able to catch up with Will Barton at Denver Nuggets training camp, talking about his community service over the summer staying back in Baltimore, playing multiple positions from point guard to small forward, and how training camp is going. When asked about the current competition at point guard, Barton had the following to say:

“They all bring different things to the team. Jameer is a super vet who knows how to run our team and he can score when he needs to. Jamal is ultra-competitive and he’s a big shot-maker. He makes plays with the ball in his hands and he just brings a lot of energy. And Mudiay, he’s kinda the guy that likes to get out in transition and make things happen, things of that nature.”

He also said he’d love to “stay here and see how far we can take it” when asked about an extension, but also said he lets his agent handle that aspect – as he should. With the rumor out that an extension could be imminent for Will The Thrill, Barton might indeed be able to help fuel this climb back to Western Conference contention in a Nuggets uniform.
