After making an interesting draft night trade and acquiring Utah Jazz forward Trey Lyles, the Denver Nuggets selected forward Tyler Lydon 24th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Lydon was an excellent shooter at the University of Syracuse, shooting 39.8% from the 3-point line in his two seasons playing for the Orange. He averaged 13.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists during his sophomore season. Lydon is one of the best shooters in the draft this year and a surprisingly good athlete. He’s not a great defender at this point of his career, but there are worse picks than grabbing a power forward that could potentially shoot 40% from deep in the NBA.

There should be speculation that the Nuggets were targeting OG Anunoby at the 24th pick, but Anunoby was selected at 23rd, one pick earlier, to the Toronto Raptors.

For now, please join me in welcoming Tyler Lydon to Denver!
