The Denver Nuggets were active early in the draft, trading the number 13 pick, Donovan Mitchell, to the Utah Jazz in exchange for third-year forward Trey Lyles and the number 24 pick.

Lyles was drafted by the Jazz in 2015 and since found a limited role on the bench, averaging 16.8 minutes per game and putting up 6.1 points per game in that time. Though he isn’t a scoring machine by any means, he shot pretty well his rookie season and even put up a career high 22 points that year. Ironically enough, it came against his future team, the Denver Nuggets!
