In nearly every mock draft published in anticipation of the NBA draft, the author will make 30 to 60 selections based off their professional opinion.

However, in this mock draft, I enlisted 30 general managers to help with the mock draft. I gave up control, letting them make trades to either strengthen their team or blow it up for a rebuild. They made their selections, and hopefully this gives a more general consensus on which teams want which players.

As always, a disclaimer that there is a high probability that all these predictions are wrong. Please comment below if you agree/disagree, and be sure to check out the site for continued coverage of draft prospects.

Notes

  • Jonathan Jeanne was a surprise early pick in this mock draft. Since this exercise took place, Jeanne has been diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a potentially career ending injury. It is tragic for Jeanne to have this happen, and I wish him the best.
  • I’ll continue to say that if the Nuggets want Isaac, they need to hope two things happen. First, that he slides to the Orlando Magic at No. 6. Second, that the Magic are willing to trade that pick to Denver.
  • Hunter Kuffel, the Brooklyn GM, did great. He comes out with Bismack Biyombo, Chandler Parsons, Austin Rivers, Wesley Johnson, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Ike Anigbogu, Frank Jackson, and Alec Peters. Bravo.
  • Devin Robinson is a sleeper Ryan Blackburn likes, but going at 24 to Utah? That’s probably too early. With the Jazz taking Giles and Melo Trimble, that was a draft I didn’t like – too much risk.
  • Charlotte took Donovan Mitchell and Sterling Brown – stellar picks.
  • Kevin Smith, the Suns GM, did a great job in my opinion of flipping Eric Bledsoe to the Mavericks. Getting Valanciunas, Tatum, and Ntilikina to play alongside Marquese Chriss, Devin Booker, and Dragan Bender is great work.
  • I liked Houston getting Kobi Simmons and P.J. Dozier, those are smart gambles in the second round.
  • I honestly think people forgot about T.J. Leaf, who was the final pick of the draft. There’s no way he goes that late, but again, this isn’t the real draft! I would have liked T.J. McBride to select Leaf over Jaron Blossomgame.
  • There are good point guards in the top 10, but that position gets bad real quick after that. If teams are looking for a backup point guard, this could be a tough draft for that need.

Keep an eye out for lots of draft coverage over the next 10 days – we’ll do our best to keep you informed.
