Highlights: Nikola Jokic comes one assist shy of another triple double against the Houston Rockets

New, comment

Despite a down night shooting, the Joker was still big on contributions

NBA: Denver Nuggets at Houston Rockets Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Nikola Jokic didn’t have his greatest night scoring against the Houston Rockets last night, but that didn’t stop him from being a big contributor anyways. Despite just 12 points (on 17 shots) Jokic had a massive night on the boards, collecting 19 rebounds, as well as dishing out 9 assists and snagging 5 steals as well. Jokic did struggle from the three point line, going 0-5 in what has become a bit of an alarming trend with his falling three point %. Still, I wouldn’t read too much into last night’s shooting performance. The Joker will no doubt be back to his high percentage shooting ways very soon.

The performance of course comes in a tough and demoralizing loss as the Denver Nuggets now have zero margin for error if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. Indeed, over the final four games they will lean on Nikola heavily and his performance will have a lot to do with whether or not the team can win out and secure a playoff bid. It will be fun to watch and for now we can enjoy the highlights below.
