Tim Connelly stopped by the Altitude 950 studios and talked for an hour today. Some highlights:

  • He mentioned that re-signing Danilo Gallinari is a priority. Not backing off that assertion after the season should mean some reciprocal interest there, right? It’s all about the price, in my opinion, but we’ll see what July brings. Or as Chris Dempsey put it:

  • Jamal Murray is going to undergo surgery for “a couple of issues” including that sports hernia. Hopefully he heals up quickly and is ready for training camp, but it’s a bummer that he won’t get an entire healthy offseason to work on his game.

He gave an anecdote about walking back to his hotel room after the loss to Portland in the rain which described the despair of many Nuggets fans that night (though at least he didn’t drown himself in the raindrops like that guy in that Ray Bradbury story). He talks about how Denver was not willing to part with all its significant youth to add veterans, even quality ones, and the problems that not having a locker room pecking order can cause.

Connelly has a lot to discuss even given the constraints of his job and the offseason timeline, so give it a listen!
