In this episode of the Locked On Nuggets podcast, I explore Emmanuel Mudiay’s defensive weaknesses and talk about how he can improve on that end. The Nuggets are the worst defensive team in the NBA in large part because of his inability to fight through screens or contain dribble penetration. I talk about why that might be and also what the Nuggets should do with his minutes once he is back from a nagging back injury.
I still really like Mudiay’s potential and I’m not ready to give up on him just yet, but he has to start showing signs of improvement on the defensive end the way that Jamal Murray has in his first season in the NBA.
