Facts: Trey Lyles has gone perfect from the field in a game this season, Donovan Mitchell has not. In all seriousness though, Lyles has been making the most of his court time for the Denver Nuggets with Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic out. Last night against the Detroit Pistons was no different as Lyles was a perfect 7-7 from the filed, including 3-3 on three point attempts. He’s going to make it very hard for coach Michael Malone to relegate him to the bench when Nikola Jokic comes back with his strong play. Hopefully coach will find a way to keep him involved because Lyles has proven to be a very capable stretch four off the bench for Denver (47.7% on 2 FGA per game). While Lyles has a long way to go to prove he should be part of Denver’s long term plans, right now the returns are good and nights like last night should make everyone very optimistic about his future.
