The NBA today announced that the Denver Nuggets are set to host the Indiana Pacers at London’s O2 Arena as part of the NBA’s Global Games.

The official announcement was made via NBA UK’s official Facebook page with Nuggets shooting guard Gary Harris joining hosts Simon Hossanah and Mark Deeks at the NBA’s European headquarters in London. As part of the announcement Harris was asked several questions by fans including questions about his idols growing up and about his mother missing his first professional dunk.

Reaction

The reaction to the news has been very positive with European based fans of both teams very happy to see their team play, without the expense of having to fly out to Denver or Indiana. Fans on Twitter and Facebook seem to be excited about two specific things – Paul George and the Nuggets European feel.

Being a British based Nuggets fan myself I can tell you that getting this news today was amazing. In order for me to watch regular season games I have to stay up until 2 or 3AM just to catch tip-off. For once I'll be able to sit down (preferably in the arena), kick back and unashamedly scream for the Nuggets at a respectable hour.

To see a team I have supported from a far, in person is going to be a dream come true. Hopefully we can sort out a Stiffs Night Out London style whilst we're at it.

Tickets for the event will go on sale at a later date, usually at the end of October. Just in time for the start of the new regular season. In the meantime, check out the excitement floating around Europe right now!
