Denver Nuggets Tweet of the Week: Steve Hess

New, comments

Steve Hess gets his first Tweet of the Week by showcasing his famous positive attitude on social media.

Steve Hess is the Denver Nuggets' strength and conditioning coach, helping players get fit and gain endurance for the very demanding schedule of the NBA season. He's most known around the Nuggets community for his sunny demeanor and contagious energy, two things that undoubtedly make him effective at his job. In order to encourage players to give their best effort to stay in as good of shape as possible, he uses a variety of motivational techniques. One of these strategies is to constantly emphasize the need to "GET BETTA." Fortunately for Nuggets fans, you don't need to be a professional athlete in order to get a piece of his motivational thinking. On Thursday, he sent out this tweet to his followers:

I love this tweet because it speaks to the importance of positive thinking. Despite it only being 5:58 a.m. when he sent it out, Hess already made his mind up that he was going to be in a great mood. Imagine how much better our lives would be if we all decided we were going to have great days before they even started. Then maybe we wouldn't let the challenges and obstacles affect us as much.

If you want to see more of Hess, there's no better video than this one from six years ago, training Chris "The Birman" Andersen in a workout at Red Rocks that makes me sore just to watch. While I don't think I'll be attempting this feat anytime soon, it still fills me with the desire to accomplish my goals.
