With the 24th pick in the 2015 NBA draft the Cleveland Cavaliers select Terry Rozier, Guard, Louisville.
I started brainstorming this pick before Kyrie Irving went down and Matt Dellavedova became the super star of the Finals... So I'm sticking with my guns because I think Dellavedova may have a little Jeremy Lin flash in the pan going for him right now.
Rozier has been moving up and down draft boards and has popped in and out of the first round the past two months, however I feel he could be a legitimate PG for a Cavs team that has an injured superstar in Irving and an undrafted finals star Dellavedova. Rozier is a high volume scorer who relies on his speed to push the tempo of play, and can quickly cut to the basket on unassuming defenses.
As a freshmen he shot 37% from beyond the arc, and 30% as a sophomore. I'm confident an NBA coaching staff would be able to bring his three point numbers back up to resemble his freshman campaign at Louisville. Rozier is a team player and extremely hard worker, my favorite stat of his is his 6.6 rebounds per game as a 6'1" freshman point guard.
Overall Rozier is a team player who could give the Cavs an up tempo look when resting the all star Kyrie Irving.
And lastly thanks to the Stiffs staff for giving me the opportunity to post on this awesome blog! Go Nuggets!
*The Cavs could have drafted Anthony Carter with this pick and still have made the finals in the Eastern Conference.*
