Last night I had the pleasure of meeting the newest Denver Nugget, Al Harrington, and welcomed him to Denver on behalf of all Nuggets fans.

My friends from Pro Seasons Personal Management and Consulting threw a great party last night at Japoix in downtown Denver and were kind enough to introduce me to Harrington. They hosted an “Al Harrington Denver Media Event” attended by the newest Nugget himself in addition to Kenyon Martin, J.R. Smith, a number of Broncos and Rockies players and a few media members.

The Denver Post's Benjamin Hochman caught up with Harrington for an interview during the event, and Harrington speaks in that interview about how excited he is to join the Nuggets and how he hopes to retire here in Denver.

I got to speak with Harrington for a few minutes and he couldn’t have been a nicer guy. His enthusiasm for joining the Nuggets is contagious and he never stops smiling when talking about coming to the Mile High City. Just talking to Harrington, you can tell he’s a savvy veteran both on and off the court, and gets the business side of basketball as much as the on-the-court aspect of the game. Harrington wouldn’t take the bait with any Carmelo Anthony talk, simply reiterating that Melo hadn’t said anything definitive yet and that fans should give Melo the benefit of the doubt until Melo speaks for himself.

I hope you all join me in making Harrington feel welcomed in Denver.  It's going to be fun having him here.
