This is going to be a pretty awful recap of the Nuggets nice win in New Orleans over the Pelicans. We hosted a Stiffs Night Out at Jake's Food and Spirits, and brought the Nuggets a little good luck in route to a 93-85 win, that snapped the team's seven game losing streak.

Earlier in the day, we found out that exciting rookie center Jusuf Nurkic wouldn't be representing the Nuggets on the East Coast for the Rising Stars Challenge. Nurkic responded tonight by putting up 15 points on 7-9 shooting, including 9 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. It was refreshing to see head coach Brian Shaw turn to the rookie in the fourth quarter, and to see Juka put up close to 30 minutes.

Arron Afflalo and Anthony Davis led their teams in scoring with 20 and 24 respectively. The Nuggets were once again moving well on the offensive end, sharing the ball to the tune of 30 assists (13 for Ty Lawson), and rising to the challenge.

A nice road win for the Nuggets, and Danilo Gallinari is looking better and better. No, Jeff Morton didn't hijack this post! Gallo put up 11 points on 4-8 shooting and was on the court for key stretches for the Nuggets in his 20:18 minutes played.

BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU TO THE DENVER NUGGETS!!!!

We all love the Nuggets for various reasons, and the team loves us right back. Tonight the team was represented at Jake's Food and Spirits by Ketra, she provided those in attendance with some great Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried autographed swag, as well as tickets for everybody in attendance! An amazing gesture from the team we all love to root for. We couldn't be happier with the Nuggets organization for, once again, working with us Stiffs to provide our readers with an opportunity to see the team play live, and some excellent prizes!

Thank you everyone!

Our site wouldn't be anything without our phenomenal readership. We get to chat on the site, but I truly enjoy getting to connect with those of you who come to our events. I know you are all busy, and a lot of you are out of state and out of country, too. When I started writing this blog as Pickaxe and Roll in 2009, I would have never imagined it would grow to what it is today and that I'd make so many new connections and friends through a basketball team. That's the power of sports and I appreciate you all.

It was awesome finally getting to meet SDCAT! I missed the last SNO she attended, and although she is back in Colorado for family reasons, we greatly appreciate her showing up and spending time with us watching the team win.

We are truly blessed with some great people that read the site, and again, thank you all!!!!!
