Two new faces appeared on the Nuggets' bench at summer league.

The Denver Nuggets have two new assistants on Brian Shaw's staff in Las Vegas. Along with Melvin Hunt, Chad Iske, Ryan Bowen, and Patrick Mutombo - on Denver's bench last night against the Milwaukee Bucks we saw Lester Conner and Chris Farr.

The Denver Post's Chris Dempsey tweeted the following:

Conner looked like the co-head coach along with Hunt. Conner joins Denver's staff after serving as the lead assistant under Larry Drew with the Atlanta Hawks the past three seasons. Drew was let go by the Hawks and hired this summer by the Milwaukee Bucks, it is a bit odd that Lester isn't joining him and instead to join Shaw in Denver.

Conner, who was born in Memphis and grew up in Oakland, has spent 15 years as an NBA assistant and played 13 years in the league, including two seasons with the Bucks (1990-'92).

The other new face on the staff, Farr. He was an assistant at Loyola Marymount the past four seasons.

MU men's basketball Head Coach Max Good announced this week that Chris Farr, an assistant with the Lions the last four seasons, has accepted an assistant coach position with the NBA's Denver Nuggets, working with new Head Coach Brian Shaw's staff.

Farr was heavily involved in player development for the Lions and in recruiting. The Lions have had five 1,000-point scorers while he was at LMU, continuing his development history.

From 1999 through 2002, Farr was with the men's basketball program at Fresno State. As assistant basketball coach, he was involved in recruiting, scouting, as well as conditioning and skills development. Prior to taking over the assistant coaching duties, Farr was an administrative assistant responsible for film exchange and monitoring the academic and athletic progress of players.

Farr coached for Contra Costa College in San Pablo, CA for over 10 years before joining FSU. He served as an assistant and also interim head coach. As interim head coach, he led the team to the 1999 State playoffs. While at Contra Costa College, Farr finished his degree at Cal State Hayward (now Cal State East Bay). He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication in 1996.

As a student-athlete, Farr was team captain of the men's basketball team at Sacramento State, where he led the team in assists (1986 to 1988) and steals (1987). He also captained Contra Costa College where he made all-league first team and again led the team in steals and assists. For the 1983-1984 season, Farr played for Oxnard Community College where he was named All-WSC.

In addition to those two coaches, Patrick O'Keefe was with the Nuggets last night - he served in the Los Angeles Lakers video department, but was not brought back following the 2011 season.
