Ty Lawson Suffers Ankle Injury, Return Date Uncertain
(SB Nation Denver, Russ Oates) The Denver Nuggets can't shake the injury bug of late. In Monday's thrilling (and harrowing) overtime victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Nuggets lost Ty Lawson to a left ankle sprain, one that will have him listed as day-to-day. This is already the third injury for Lawson this season, and the second to his left ankle. He missed some time at the end of January due to that issue. His right foot bothered him during the start of the season in January.
If Lawson is unable to play over the next game or two, Andre Miller -- who was 0-for-8 from the field and ejected on Monday night -- would draw the start while giving way to rookie Julyan Stone for some more minutes in the back court.
The Nuggets are already without starters Nene and Danilo Gallinari -- both likely to return some time after the All-Star Break -- and reserve Rudy Fernandez is dealing with a back issue, as well. Timofey Mozgov just came back from his own ankle injury, suffered earlier in the month in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Injuries suck
When your starters go down, it’s hard to win games.
Better fire the coach!
Is your love worth the nausea it could bring?
it's also hard to win games
when you have 30+ year old bench players logging the entire second half of a game, and being relied upon to close out games without rest.
not subbing in offensive players when your team needs a spark, not subbing in defensive players when your team needs to hold a lead, THAT is when it’s hard to win games. Not calling any plays at all and just letting the team go through its “flow,” THAT is when it’s hard to win games. having no support from your coach, who just sits with his head in his hands instead of making adjustments when needed, THAT is when it’s hard to win games.
Better fire the coach!
nuggets definitely could have 20+ wins right now even with the injuries if we had a coach who knew how to make adjustments and call plays, as well as showing some support for his players.
These old players should be offset with young ones.
Maybe we could trade grampa ty lawson for someone younger. I hear Kyrie Irving is only 19.

Formerly KarlFanHenry, which no longer accurately describes me, though my new screen name sure as hell does.
