Saturday STIFFS NIGHT OUT: Trivia themes, drink specials and more...

A lot of our fellow Stiffs have been asking how we're going to give away three pairs of (amazing!) seats to the Nuggets / Raptors game on the 27th during tomorrow night's STIFFS NIGHT OUT. Well, we're going to play Nuggets trivia, of course! See below for details...

Star-divide

During tomorrow night's STIFFS NIGHT OUT, we're going to give away three pairs of tickets to the Nuggets/Raptors game on January 27th. These seats are right behind the Nuggets bench, so you won't want to miss your chance at winning them.

To do this, we're going to serve up three Nuggets-related trivia questions. The first question will be given out at the beginning of the game at 5:30pm - so be on time! We will collect the answers after the first quarter and will announce the winner at halftime. We will then hand out the next two questions at halftime, collect the answers after the third quarter and announcer the winners post-game. Each question will come with an in-game tiebreaker.

Without giving too much away, the themes for tomorrow night's three trivia questions will be as follows...

-Future Denver Stiffs Hall of Fame Inductees
-New York State of Mind
-Daggers to the Heart

Don't forget to RSVP on Facebook or in the comments here so we can get a rough head count for tomorrow night.

Additionally, Jake's Food & Spirits - our host bar - will be serving happy hour drinks until 7pm and will unveil their newest cocktail concoction - The Denver Stiff - served all night for just $3. Visit www.jakesdenver.com for happy hour pricing.

Here's all the info and we look forward to seeing our fellow Stiffs at Jake's tomorrow!

What: STIFFS NIGHT OUT: Nuggets vs. Knicks

When: 5:30pm

Where:

Jake's Food & Spirits
3800 Walnut Street
Denver, CO 80205

You can start by buying me Clipper tickets when the Nuggets come to down

Just kidding, but sounds like this Stiffs Night out is going to be the biggest party assembled of Nuggets fans and I’m going to miss it. :(

Planning to be there with my lady friend

Wishful thinking, but I’ve got topic #2 on lock if it was a Nas reference. Just gimme the tickets now.

Collect only two trillion Stiff points and you too can unlock the secret of George Karl's rotations with the official George Karl Random Basketball Decoder Ring! Huzzah!

My Apologies to Buckets Harrington

A lot of us were pretty hard on Al Harrington last season because of his injuries, weight/conditioning and spotty play. With his amazing play this season, it is clear he was injured last season and was just not able to play at a high level. I have to give him a lot of credit for getting in shape and coming into this season with an obvious chip on his shoulder. He has been great, and one of the best 6th men in the League this season. He is clearly a leader on this young Nuggets team.

This NBATV interview with Al a couple of nights ago only solidifies my opinion that Al is a solid guy and a really good player.

I was so close to buying a plane ticket

I can get round trip tickets to denver for less than 200 bucks and i was just about to pull the trigger when the wifey decided she needed a new phone instead. Oh well, I guess this way I can hold this over her when I want to fly out for a game. Never seen the Nugs play in Denver. Only when they come here to play.

Hope you All Have a Great Night!!

Denver Stiffs is one of the best fan clubs in the NBA – - sounds like a great event. Now, let’s get a win in NY, even with the plane troubles and lack of sleep….

Have fun you guys

Both me and the lady just came down with colds and can’t make it. Rats.

"When I played, this is how I liked to play," Karl said. "It’s a combination of North Carolina, Phoenix Suns, Doug Moe. There is a commitment to running all the time."
Smith's mistakes throughout the series have bothered Karl. "And then, of course the one with eight seconds to go, from 50 feet," Karl said. "I just love the dignity of the game being insulted right in front of me."

Okay how about instead of having to print out and eat my article

I have to put some form of kiss-ass remark in my signature line towards Al Harrington? You guys have to make up the signature line though.

A simple mea cupla

Would suffice for me. You weren’t the only one unhappy with Al Harrington last year, after all.

But I think other stiffs want to see blood. And by “blood” I mean see you in gastro-intestinal distress.

Soy-based ink, buddy.

Is your love worth the nausea it could bring?

Nope

You have to eat it.

I am going to forward it to him via twitter.

The only possible exception would be if you were planning to make a video of your meal and post it on youtube :)

Well

What bar is that? Maybe when we are all rowdy after the game, we’ll need to move the party somewhere else.

And besides, you’d surely pour stiff drinks for everyone, no?

Is your love worth the nausea it could bring?

Unfortunately, I work the door on Saturdays so I'm slinging drinks tonight

But it’s Gov’s Park in Cap Hill

Happy hour from 4-7 and 9-1.

Rowdiness recommended.

Son of a...

Hey guys, longtime no comment, I guess. Just wanted to stop by to let you know that unfortunately I can’t make it, again, as I have an out-of-town birthday party that I’ve been planning to go to for quite some time. Sucks, as I really wanted to go this time around. When the Nuggets make the playoffs we should try and reserve a section at the Can for Stiffs Night out 2 or something like that. Anyways, pour me out an extremely stiff “Denver Stiff” and enjoy this beat down the Nuggets are about to give Carmela “LaLa” Anthony. Go Nugs!!!

Hyperboles kill.
There is no such thing as a "George Karl fan;" there are Karl apologists, and those who realize he should be fired.

Nene is most likely going to play tonight

http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_19787905?source=rss

“Probably not” became “probable.” On Friday morning, Nuggets coach George Karl said he didn’t think Nene would play tonight at New York after Denver’s big man rested his lingering left heel strain Friday at Washington. But after Friday night’s win, Nene was declared probable for the big game tonight against Carmelo Anthony.

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
