Preseason Game 2: Nuggets vs. Suns 7pm

The Nuggets play the Suns again for some reason. Would it really have been so hard to play a different team? NBA schedule makers are as frustrating as Altitude TV for not airing these games. The Nuggets won the first match-up 127-110 ... how will the team do tonight? Whoever predicts the Nuggets leading scorer correctly gets 3 brownie points. The injuries: Ty Lawson (ankle), Nene (back), Rudy Fernandez (right knee strain), and Al Harrington all might sit this one out. Kenneth Faried time aka Manimal! Oh and Andre Miller Time!

After the game the other night

Went strait to NBA.com and bought a Faried jersey. I was tempted to do a custom one that said Manimal on the back but went with just Faried. Looking forward to another exciting game tonight.

Good call.

You should always go with the last name on jerseys. Can always get a t-shirt with Manimal on it or something down the road if you desire.

Let’s go Nuggets!

You can wear this ONLY

If you are under the age of 25. If over, just buy a Tee shirt or a hoodie. No grown man should wear a jersey – period. (unless, of course you are a professional athlete)

Tonight's game is on the radio

Its on the radio cruisin’950/103.1 here in Denver

I think it would be fun to see what would happen if Karl gave most of the minutes to the younger players hoping to secure a spot on team. There isn’t a single young player we have that I dislike and it would be great to see what they can really do, not just wait until the second half.

I miss him already. I understand why the Blazers wanted to trade him, but I thought it was a huge mistake. But it did one thing – it made me an instant Nuggets fan. Andre Miller is one of the smartest guys you’ll see on the court. Just watch. When things are looking bad, he will find the holes and show the young ‘uns how it’s done. He won’t be a star scorer, but he’s a kingmaker. Who set Aldridge up for all those lobs? Dre. Be nice to the guy – he’ll make you proud.

Nuggets have had no loyalty to any of their stars lately, heck they traded away Alex English and let Mutumbo walk for nothing. Loyalty is a two way street and Melo signed at least one extension, we could have lost him a year earlier for nothing had he not signed that..

Almost like a lot of the starters aren’t playing or are extremely rusty from not playing / practicing much.

Nice win

The Nuggets depth was on full display tonight as many of the regulars were out or played minimal minutes. Granted, the Suns are turrible, but I wall impressed with the Nuggs play on the road. Key takeaways:

1) Defense – this team is a terrific defensive team. The made Phoenix look really bad with their defense tonight. The combination of size and speed is going to be a real asset for the Nuggs.

2) Game balls to KK and Brewer. KK was tough on defense, on offense and on the glass. The dude is big and using his size in an athletic way. Brewer showed why Karl loves the guy — hustle player that give you a lift off the bench.

3_ The Rooks – the rookies – Faried and Stone – - looked great again. Faried is just a rebounding machine, but his defensive intelligence needs some work. Stone backed up Andre, and looks like he could very ably man the pg position as the 3rd PG. He’s a solid rook.

4) Gallo Is Going to Have a Big Season – - He scored a very quiet 20 points. Imagine when he has a BIG game.

5) Would play Faried over Carroll. Karl seems to like Carroll, but Faried is the superior player. Let’s not waste valuable minutes on Carroll when Faried needs those minutes to improve.

Great pre-season, now let’s get it on against Dallas!

Besides, we need to keep the Braidy Bunch alive.

Crunching the numbers of Preseason.

Nuggets averaged 118.5 points per game while giving up 97 points per. That’s an average winning margin of 21.1, the lowest scoring quarter in all games was the first game when we scored 26. The highest scoring quarter was 34, also in the first game. The average score per quarter was 27.5 for our Nuggets. We averaged 32.5 points per in the 4th quarter, the highest average out of all the quarters which is interesting to note.

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
