Masai Ujiri speaks about keeping Melo...
At his introductory press conference sitting beside Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke, new Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri (not surprisingly) spoke about keeping Carmelo Anthony in a Denver Nuggets uniform. And for more get-to-know Masai news, I recommend reading Nuggets.com's Aaron Lopez's interview with the Nuggets new GM.

Looks like Dempsy tried to do some actual reporting.....from the Post
Meanwhile, Nuggets president Josh Kroenke took aim at a recent report citing sources who detailed a deteriorating relationship between team executives and Anthony’s representation.
“Anything that has been said is either someone trying to manipulate the situation behind the scenes, or other motives that are unknown at this point,” Kroenke said. "But Melo and his representation have been great to us.
“I think he knows he can come to me as an individual. We have that amount of respect that we can talk about things openly in a noncombative way. So anything that has been stated from sources behind sources, all of our talks have been extremely cordial.”
what the HELL is going on

Good question
There haven’t been any statements from Melo’s agent or Melo himself, but every article that gets written up has Melo leaving the Nuggets before the season starts. I kinda dislike how any ass with an opinion can write an article, on a subject that he has little to no knowledge of, and still keep his job and get paid.

Melo can't comment on the record
or he gets a big fine. So everything has to be “people close to the situation”, which makes judging the source impossible. The sources have some credibility, however, because Melo hasn’t squashed them publicly.

For that matter so does Josh Kroenke
from the above quote. Why are we so inclined to believe the crap that spews from anonymous sources and yet we automatically believe that our team owner has no credibility?

I am assuming Woj's sources were people
From CAA who love to manipulate things b/c they think they own the league now after the Decision ordeal.
I would think it is foolish for management to trade Melo b4 the season starts.
Maybe around the trade deadline if nothing changes, but b4 the season would be too soon to dismantle this team that still hasn’t played with Karl since March.

they're the same assholes who made it certain that Paul was going to leave and LeBron was going to NY
these guys seem like they just like to make rumors around the NBA… kinda like an attention seeking whore
you realize how dumb you sound...
if he were to just come out and say he was staying… I would guarantee the Nuggets wouldn’t make any moves to improve… but if he doesn’t he keeps his options open thus giving him leverage… He could use this new power to make the FO into making some moves to improve… that and he prob wants to keep his options open b/c he knows that the offer will always be there, no point in signing it now and guaranteeing he spends his entire prime here unless he gets any sign that they will have a good team around him
Its over folks! The fact that Melo says nothing means he is
leaving and if he wasn’t leaving he would say something to the contrary. This is new front office trying to look good for the masses so when Melo leaves they can say, “hey we tried.” Bottomline is if Melo wanted to squash these rumors he would come out and do it. He hasn’t, therefore…. Bye-Bye!

HVino Skeptic is being a troll
No logical, reasoning person could come with that deduction unless they are trying to be a troll and raise the wrath of Nuggets fans for fun.

I hope this guy sticks to scouting...
Let Bearup handle the negotiations and media events— Ujiri’s public acumen looks like it’s got a ways to go. I understand English is probably his fifth language, and it’s hard enough to speak in public using your first language, but that’s why these guys get paid. They need to be the face of a franchise, and that is not a sparkling first impression.

would have to agree
for some reason those two guys sitting there doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in where this team is headed. not really sure exactly why I get that feeling, but that’s my reaction watching it.
Read a little deeper
It’s not about how well this guy talks or how he looks, his intentions are top class.

intentions are great
but they don’t get things done. i’ll give him a chance, but that is my initial reaction.
Nigerians speak English as a primary language
So I guess that means we’re doubly screwed if he can’t get it right in his dominant language. I honestly think it may have been nerves coupled with the gravity of “the Situation”.

He deals with the goddamn customers so the engineers (Bearup and Kroenke) don't have to! He has people skills!
Everything you read mentions how personalbe Ujiri is, so I’m not worried about new job jitters in his first press conference in his first GM gig at an organization he is still getting familiar with. It happens.

Wow, I am loving what I'm hearing from this guy
And thanks Andrew for keeping us updated with all this information, it’s much needed. The jury is still out on how well of a team this guy can assemble, but his attitude and personality already have me won over and that’s hard to do. I just can’t wait to see what Uriji can do with this team. Also I loved how he said he’s going to bring in the best talent, reguardless of where it’s concieved. That’s good news.
Stiff 4 Life
You heard it here first
Regardless of where it’s concieved means we will be getting a Euro-flop-artist pretty soon…And knowing Denver’s luck that’s when Stern will enforce an excessive flopping technical foul to the rule book.
