Revisiting the Nuggets interim head coach Hall of Fame...
I know it's tacky to recycle a previously written column idea (maybe less so if you admit it at the outset), but it's time to revisit Adrian Dantley's place in Nuggets interim head coach history.
On February 25th two years ago, Nuggets assistant coach Adrian Dantley filled in for head coach George Karl who was out with the flu in a home game against the (then very good) Detroit Pistons. The Nuggets lost 98-93, which prompted me to write a column on other notable Nuggets interim head coaches...all of whom have been abject failures.
While no one would mistake Dantley for a coach doing a great job right now, he's the only interim head coach in Nuggets history to have won more games than lost, making him the best interim head coach in franchise history. Of course, if you read on below that's like saying you're the tallest midget.

YO, ADRIAN....WAKE THE F*CK UP!!
I already posted this same heading on a previous subject, but I think it bears repeating. IHC Adrian Dantley looks 1/2 dead while the refs commit grand larceny against the team, especially Melo. How about a technical foul? Or even an ejection, anything to show your team that you’ve got their backs? Why are Melo & CB getting T’d up, w/ Melo getting run off, & AD is literally MIA in protecting & defending his players? That POS ref, Brothers, has a PERSONAL vendetta against the Nugz & especially Melo! I’m sick of the league looking the other way while the officiating continues to spiral further into the cesspool. Its pATHETIC- but more blame to Dantley for being nearly comatose in light of the recent travestys’. PUHLEEZE, WTF*ck up, dude!!!!!
during nationally televised games there's always a segment where both teams' huddles are shown and you get to hear what the coaches have to say
since dantley took over, i haven’t seen one for the nuggets…
"I believe that basketball, when a certain level of unselfish team play is realized, can serve as a kind of metaphor for ultimate cooperation. It is a sport where success, as symbolized by the championship, requires that the dictates of the community prevail over selfish personal impulses. An exceptional player is simply one point on a five-pointed star. Statistics—such as points, rebounds, or assists per game—can never explain the remarkable interaction that takes place on a successful pro team."

There was one
where AD was telling his guys to get out and pick up the pace. That was the Lakers game. And who did he put out on the floor after that? I’ll give you a hint: it wasn’t Lawson.
A rare event
That should be on YouTube. “Adrian Dantley trying to be a coach”
The Electric Chair was invented by a Dentist. No wonder why children hate them.
The more I think about Nuggets history
The more I can appreciate the recent regime. I really don’t miss the days of wasted high lottery picks in the draft or the losing hall of famers (Mutombo) for nothing in free agency. That being said, I really hope GK is doing well and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
"I know the game of basketball is one-on-one (oriented), but the pain of beating a defense by the pass — it confuses and frustrates the defense more than just going by a guy one-on-one." George Karl
Coby Karl just signed by the Nuggets
Is this an effort at added emotion or energy?
I still think Dantley should just suit up
He can still drive the lane better than Allen can…

When Scotty Brooks left we had nobody to fill the void
AD’s seniority made him the number 2 and the younger assistants got a chance to do more. Those guys are still learning, and what we are seeing now is that many of the deep-seeded issues with coaching were not GK’s to bear on his own.
