I feel weird for saying this, but we need LK in for Kenyon
Kenyon must be hurting, need to get him out before we fall too behind.
Not first.

Now Ariza knows how it feels!
He did WORSE to Rudy here. Had to be taken out on a stretcher. Glad he’s okay though, I don’t wish injury on anyone.

ariza's foul on ariza wasnt intentional either, obviously
Rudy’s fall was a perfect case of an awkward foul, not necesarily a hard one
Hmmmmmm
I think these commentators have crushes on K0be.

Apparently you have to shove with both hands for it to not be a foul.
Or just wear yellow and purple
Back-to-back horrible calls
And it’s a 5-point swing.
Kobe pushes Jones in the back with 2 hands, nothing, and a touch foul on KMart.

I'm amazed the Nuggets are still in this game
You know how Karl sends in snippets of the game to the league for review? He should just send in this whole damn game.
FT's are killing them
Mel0 going into beast mode.
Playing good defense at least
They almost didn’t call a foul on that Billups drive. MAKE FREE THROWS.
Life is hilarious.

That is where you are COMPLETELY wrong.
I am sorry but you can say anything about Shaq having Kobe. But Kobe was equally as important to shaq as kobe was to shaq. Melo could NOT of done what Kobe has done for Shaq. and you know that!

by Andrew T. Fisher on May 21, 2009 10:38 PM MDT up reply actions
You are wrong!
he took the Lakers to the Finals but he didn’t win a title until he had Kobe and Wade on his side. You are giving him too much credit for getting there but it took Kobe and Wade to bail him out to get those rings.
by PURPLE AND GOLD FOR LIFE on May 21, 2009 10:40 PM MDT up reply actions
Really?
So it’s a coincidence that Wade and Kobe have failed to win a title since he left? They are superstars that carried Aristotle yet crumbled without him? Name another star player who has titles with two teams and appearances with three. It is NOT a coincidence, and you can’’t give the credit to players who can’t sustain that level of success in his absence
"I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious." - Albert Einstein
by Andrew T. Fisher on May 21, 2009 10:49 PM MDT up reply actions
You are right. Cant take that away from you...
but all i am asking is that you look at wades’s and Kobe’s stats in the 4th qtr during those years. look at what they had to do to win a title and carry shaq. then tell me if he needed them more than they needed him?
by PURPLE AND GOLD FOR LIFE on May 21, 2009 10:52 PM MDT up reply actions
I don't really understand your point
The big picture is more important than fourth quarters, especially considering the flux of strategy. Just because Wade made more shots late (I haven’t checked up on this claim) doesn’t mean Shaq didn’t carry the team all season or even late in the game. Just his presence allows for more open outside shots. Eh, you’ll believe in Kobe regardless of what I say, and I’ll disagree. Oh well.

by PURPLE AND GOLD FOR LIFE on May 21, 2009 10:41 PM MDT up reply actions
The Lakers in the '80s were a force to be reckoned with.
But the Lakers now only have Kobe rely on, and he hasn’t gotten it done since Shaq left. Without Kobe they’re an average team at best
more or less average than the nuggets have been?
by PURPLE AND GOLD FOR LIFE on May 21, 2009 10:30 PM MDT up reply actions
I'm only thinking about this year.
I think that’s why LA keeps giving games away. They think that they should win just because they have banners from years past. Play the game.

WOW...great game
Just my two cents:
Kleiza definitely needs props, but the player of the game was CB7. He took over at the end and showed the team how to play smart, tough playoff close-out basketball.
Plus you have to give Chauncy mad props for making Kobe look like the captain of the fail boat at the end of the half when he bounced the in-bounds off his back. I couldn’t stop laughing!
I don’t want breakaway speed. I want break-some-poor-fool-as-I-bowl-you-over power getting 6 yards off a play that should have been stopped for 2 at most.
Props to Kobe for his last comment:
Not word for word but:
Q: On Tuesday night the Nuggets felt like they let one slip away. Do you feel the same tonight after losing the big lead?
K: Yeah, we probably returned the favor.
Ugh
I don’t like the whole concept of “stealing” a game, it’s an excuse. You either win or you don’t, there are ups and downs to most games.
Ultimately, winning cures everything and losing leaves you desperately searching for answers.
On another note… YEEEEEEAAAAHHHH BOYS!!!!!! Missed the game thread, but damn that was a good game. I’m just now coming down off it enough to post

Hanz missed it. The Nuggets DID NOT outplay LA this game.

Nugs played like hell for almost a full half
yet still won. I don’t know whether to encouraged by that, or discouraged by how they played early on.

Great job Nuggets!
We are loving it in Portland too! Keep it up.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

What a game this was!
I’m going to have trouble not repeating what everyone has said, but I’ll give it a shot.
Linas Kleiza?! Where the hell did that come from?! I was shocked and am still shocked at how well that guy played. He really stepped up and I just can’t even believe it. Can we get another great game from his this Saturday?
CB7…dude. You’re just a beast. Period. Carmelo…likewise. J.R…what the hell? Get your game on, dude! I’m going to have to talk to my good buddy J.R. and straighten him out. Birdman played a decent game, but he got posterized a couple of times. Hopefully he’ll get his head on straight back home for Game 3. Dahntay Jones made me very proud at the end of this game because in the face of a potential foul out, he kept playing his game and didn’t let up. His D really helped at the end of this one.
Overall, I think the Nuggets played in the C+ B- range if I had to give them a grade. They are not playing their best basketball, obviously, but despite the terrible officiating BOTH ways, the hostile crowd, and against the “most talented team in the league” and held on after a terrible start where they easily could have given up like the Rockets in Game 7. Very proud of this team and can’t wait for Game 3, obviously.
J.R. is my homeboy

great game
Denver’s defense on Kobe down the stretch was key.
However, that credit being said, the officials cost the Lakers the game down the stretch. Several blow calls, and bad mistakes by simply being out of position with no view of the action on the court.
Once again, my rallying cry of the need for more officials on the court (permanent baseline officials would be nice) goes unheard.
Either way however, can’t wait till Game 3, I know LA will steal one of these two games in Denver.
Kobe travelled before his last 3

WOOO HOO!
Guess where I just got back from!
It's not the Lakers I hate with every bone in my body, it's just the players and their fans.
The game!!! Simmons had some twitter stuff from the game. He hates the Lakers.
Jezru … if you have pictures you can post them in the FanPost section or email to me and I’ll post em up with a game story or something?

Did you burn a Laker flag?
Did you piss off any celebrities? How was it dude? There was some dude near the court on TV who seemed to be standing and cheering for the Nugs … was that you?

I was not near the court...
Although I did vocally piss on some celebrities… The tatted up dude next to me took exception… He got real mad at me… Apparently questioning the sexual orientation of Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer set him off….

How 'bout them bandwagoning Laker fans!
