anyway we can actually watch this?

not on altitude and looking at the blazers site it doesn’t appear they are televising it either.

Yeah, I came over here from Blazersedge...

to see if you guys were televising it.

Is it just me or has this been a long offseason?

good luck this season and regardless of whether Nuggets of Blazers end up on top at the end of the season, just spank the lakers when ever the opportunity is there

Well you know..

Our offseason has been about a month shorter than yours. Going deep in the playoffs sure helps make the offseason seem less shitty, or so I’ve learned.

wtf

balkman DNP along with petro, loony, draper and white

by samdman on Oct 18, 2009 8:59 PM MDT reply actions

I think Balkman has some kind of groin injury, not sure about Petro.
Loony, White and draper will not make the team so whats the point of wasting minutes?

Whats the point of playing AC for 18 minutes in a preseason game...

…when this is the time to see what the un-guranteed guys have to offer? Isn’t that what preseason is for? We could acctually benefit from a bench player who can score, so now would be a great time to see if White’s scoring prowess in the D-league would translate. I would certainly rather have seen him than AC play for 18+ minutes and do absolutely nothing.

Goose Egg

If the weak link had scored at least 2 baskets in his 18 minutes of playing we could have got this,

From a Portland fan who attended the game

Yes the refs were really that bad. 68 combined fouls and almost half were bad calls.

GK and AC awesome show, great job!!!!!

Good thing we got to see 10 year veteran Anthony Carter play 19 minutes to get 0 points and 2 turnovers. It’s not liek rookie Ty Lawson could have used more experience, considering he hasn’t played a real NBA game and outproduced AC in 1/3 the playing time. I didn;t watch or listen to this game but Portland probably deserved this win seeing as how they shot less free throws.

No minutes for White either. Good thing the preseason is meaningless because GK is setting this team up for epic failure.

Denver missed a ridiculous number of layups and shorts shots

In the first and second quarters, of course Portland missed a lot of jumpers we would have canned about 70% of the time last year in the third.

Just my view from going to the game, looking forward to our first real game between our teams in two and a half weeks.

Took a closer look at the box score

Ty Lawson played 6 and half minutes, was a +4, got 8 pts/3 reb/1 ast/ 2 stl. Committed no TOs and 2 fouls

AC played 19 minutes (!) was a -12, got 0pts/2reb/2ast/1stl. Commited 2 TOs and 1 foul

What the christ was AC doing in all that time? Watching Jerryd Bayless play?

Love Stinks

GK doesn’t give the other guards any pt because he knows everyone in camp that is a guard can outplay AC.
This guy is overrated on defense and as a player
He got no offer for a big contract because no one in their right minds except for the Nuggets would sign him. He’s a nice guy in the locker room because he such a bad player on the court.
Both GK and AC need to be put out into the pasture
As I’ve said in numerous posts. Ty on his worst day as a rookie is a better player than AC on his best day as a veteran.

by samdman on Oct 19, 2009 6:53 PM MDT up reply actions

Here's my problem

Many of the fellow fans and bloggers I have a lot of respect for have defended AC using that very flawed logic.

I said from the beginning AC should not have been brought back. Obviously, the team would not spend more than the minimum and AC held out for months trying to leverage more money. He received a promise from George Karl himself that if he did resign, his minutes would not be reduced from last season.

Being a good locker room personality is incredibly overrated. The GK-AC relationship is a poisonous one. Anyone who defended resigning despite his poor statistical performance and late-game meltdowns was confused and greatly mistaken.

This is about the worst possible situation for a rookie like Lawson to try to develop in.

by runningdonut on Oct 19, 2009 8:31 PM MDT up reply actions

My thing is...

if lawson plays bad…he’s gonna AT LEAST equal the output that AC is giving because Ty is that good. Difference is….with Ty, he is just gonna learn from it and get better. At 45…AC is what he is…..garbage.

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
