2008-09 Game 32: Denver Nuggets at Atlanta Hawks Game Thread

Denver Nuggets at Atlanta Hawks, Dec 29, 2008 5:00 PM MST

Sorry for the short “preview” but that 5:00 start has snuck up on me.

Here is all you need to know about tonight’s game against the Hawks.  Atlanta is good team and they are really good at home.  This is the last game of an eight game home stand for them.  They beat the Cavs (the only loss the Cavs have suffered since November 19th!) and the only game Atlanta has lost during this home stand was a nail biter to the Celtics.

The Nuggets had better gird their loins for a tough, but winnable, game.

I think of the hawks as the nuggets of the east, Both teams led by veteran point guards(chauncey VS bibby) with alot of young athletic players(JR, Nene, Kleiza vs Williams, horford, josh smith), Throw in a offensive power house for both( Melo vs Joe Johnson), and we should have a awesome matchup.

No Nene

I missed the pregame show so I am not sure why.

Nuggets can win this if they start jumping for rebounds.

Then he doesn’t show on the screen letting Flip nail an open 3…

That’s not their game but they are gonna need a couple to get back into this. JR usually shows his stripes ’bout this time of the game…

they are'nt doing that bad against a decent team

more D rebounds and some of those 3’s would be nice

Hawks must practice 33 ft. 3 pointers a lot…

Last week has shown me 2 things: Nuggets can still play a man down but just not enough and they need to swing a trade for another big.

THE STIFF LIST (as of 3/8 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: K-MART'S LEFT KNEE
Best-case scenario, K-Mart misses another week or two with a sore knee.  Worst-case, he's done for the season with knee surgery.

STIFF #2: RON ARTEST
Nice hairdo.  'Nuff said.

STIFF #3: JOEL PRYZBILLA
The Blazers backup center re-injured his surgically repaired right knee after slipping in the shower.  Now we're just waiting for Greg Oden to slip on a banana peel.

STIFF #4: CAVALIERS FANS
Recently set the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets - i.e. Snuggies.  Really?!  This is worthy of a world record?!

STIFF #5: BOSTON CELTICS
Losing to the pathetic Nets and almost losing to the Wizards is one thing.  But to do so at home within a week of each other...now that's an art.  I think it's safe to assume the Celtics are going nowhere in this year's playoffs.
