Nuggets still in "search mode" after defeating to Grizzlies - Mike Malone

NBA side Denver Nuggets are still seeking stability since the beginning of the campaign. After Monday’s defeat to Ja Morant, Memphis Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets’ head coach Mike Malone stated he’s still trying to seek the right lineup.

Malone said via www.mycasinoadviser.com, "I think one of the worst feelings for a coach is when you’re in search mode, just trying to find a group of guys, or a player or two, that wants to be here, wants to be in the building, wants to go out there and play and play with energy and fight and compete."

The Denver Nuggets have yet to gain their footing in the offensive end, recording an average of 100 points per contest through seven opening games this campaign. In the defeat vs. Memphis, they were unable to live up to expectation in defense, permitting 58 points in the paint.

Malone said, "Those are not game-plan things. That’s just the responsibility of each individual to be engaged and to go out there, and you can’t control makes or misses but you certainly can control your effort and how hard you play and do your job."
The Denver Nuggets will have the opportunity to get back one against the Grizzlies, after their disappointing loss on Monday, as they lock horns with the Grizzlies again on Wednesday night.

Nikola Jokic could shrug his shoulders as the Memphis Grizzlies exposed another gap in Denver’s paint.

When Kyle Anderson dunked another mid-range jumper with 4:32 left in Monday’s game, the Nuggets, down 13, called timeout to reorganize.

Nuggets head coach Michael Malone bemoaned that that was in the scouting report. In theory, the Denver Nuggets should’ve been better prepared for the quickness of Ja Morant and the size of Steven Adams. Perhaps they will be better prepared on Wednesday when they will battle these same Grizzlies once again.

But then the head coach went even further, asking whether certain players even wanted to play on Monday night.

Malone said via best south african online casino, "I think one of the worst feelings for a coach is when you’re in search mode, just trying to find a group of guys, or a player or two, that wants to be here, wants to be in the building, wants to go out there and play and play with energy and fight and compete. Those are not game-plan things. That’s just the responsibility of each individual to be engaged and to go out there, and you can’t control makes or misses but you certainly can control your effort and how hard you play and do your job."

Those who failed to meet expectations, Malone said, would be dropped to the bench.

Among those that started the game, Will Barton was the only one who ended with a negative plus/minus at -14. Denver Nugget’s bench unit, once again, was defeated 43-34. Not even a little fourth-quarter flurry from Bones Hyland could rescue that number.
Even more damning, Aaron Gordon agreed with the sentiment that some of the players were not ready based on the report of the scout.

Gordon said, "We talked about it after the game, even from the shoot around, it just seemed like we weren’t really locked in. The preparation is everything."
